Senior Living and Care Options

While you may boast a strong expertise on the service you provide, do you really know all the details of the various other living and care options available? Do you know all of the different levels of home care and hospice? Can you readily identify who is best served by which housing option? Are you clear on which payment source will cover each choice? While many of us are familiar with terms such as home health care, adult day care, assisted living and nursing home, we may not fully appreciate the nuances of all the differing levels of care and service offered by providers throughout the long term care field. There is no need to have knowledge gaps. This session takes you through the entire continuum of care and addresses specific aspects of care offered by an array of provider organizations throughout the region - including payment options. A range of issues faced in providing care to people throughout this spectrum, as well as factors used to determine what makes a good program, facility or center, will be covered.

Program speakers: Stuart Rosenthal & Alan DubowStuart Rosenthal, Publisher of The Beacon newspapers and Chair of the Maryland Commission on Aging and Alan Dubow, Vice President of Capital Health Solutions. Widely regarded as among the foremost experts in the National Capital Area on care options for seniors, Stuart, whose publication is a major informational resource for seniors throughout the Washington-Baltimore corridor, provides information on the available providers of each type of senior care and housing service; while Alan, with extensive experience in the rehabilitation and long term care field, explains the complex health care system so that it is readily understood who goes where and what resources are available to cover care costs. He has designed healthcare informational programs used by both healthcare providers as outreach and marketing tools, and for non-profit organizations for major national initiatives.
